To fully understand how powerful the VCX Gateway service can be, we put together this basic information to help you learn about the service. We hope this help you to make the decision to switch over easier.
What is VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)?
Voice over Internet Protocol, also known as IP Telephony, routes your phone call over the internet as opposed to the traditional public switch telephone network (PSTN). Similar to data traffic, such as email, this allows VoIP service providers like Thinking Phone Networks to provide service at a fraction of the cost of traditional service.
How Does the VCX Gateway Service Work?
The VCX Gateway service is a simple premised based voice appliance that connects directly to your existing traditional PBX system or an IP enabled phone system already installed in your office. At its most basic, our service sits in between your existing phone system and the internet...as a "gateway" to the Internet. This system converts your existing voice traffic to IP and connects it directly to the Virtual Communication Exchange Network.
Thinking Phone Networks is one of the few VoIP service providers to offer it's service over our own national data network with multiple points of presence (POPs) not just one! This network is know as the Virtual Communciation Exchange.
