OverviewThinkingPresence™ makes real-time enterprise communication and collaboration – be it voice, video, instant messaging (IM), or email – more efficient and productive. Traditionally, presence technology has been equated with real-time information about a person’s availability, making it possible to locate and identify their computing device wherever it might be and as soon as the user connects to an online network. Such a presence scenario is typical of IM and includes now commonplace “online,” “busy” and “away” notifications. Within the ThinkingSuite unified communications ecosystem, ThinkingPresence moves beyond IM to “presence enable” not only people and devices (e.g., PCs, Smartphones, etc.), but also business tasks and processes. An example of this broader presence capability might include information about an employee’s physical location and how she is connected to the network – as well as the specific job she is working on at a given time and how long she has been working on that particular task. For enterprise managers, knowing this type of information can help with decision-making, such as determining personnel required for a given project.
