Thinking Phone Networks (www.thinkingphones.com) is seeking well qualified applicants to join the provisioning team of a fast growing, business-focused Unified Communications provider in the Cambridge MA area. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the onboarding of customers to our hosted unified communications platform. An ideal candidate will have at least 2 years working experience in a project management, IT, telecommunications, or business operations role. A bachelor’s degree is required for this position.

In this position, you will have direct interaction with the management team and get exposure to a variety of operational functions such as customer requirements analysis, project management, service provisioning, partner and vendor management, and more. Soft Skills

  • Candidate must be 100% professional, and be able to patiently and effectively communicate complex concepts to audiences with varying skill levels, in person, on the phone, and via email.
  • Candidate must be comfortable spending large parts of the day emailing and talking to customers. There is a lot of direct customer facing interaction within this role.
  • Strong written and communications skills with a demonstrated comfort level authoring non-trivial documents.
  • The position requires a detail oriented, organized, highly motivated individual that has excellent project and task management skills.
  • Candidate must be comfortable managing a dozen plus projects or more simultaneously, with scopes lasting between 90-365 days and budgets of varying sizes. Candidate must be comfortable keeping stakeholders informed, finding creative ways to workaround issues, and ensuring that the projects complete on time and to specifications.
  • Ability to be a team player and have a comfort level working within a fast paced team environment.

Hard Skills

  • Candidates should be familiar with basic office productivity tools: MS Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, Visio, and be comfortable with web based applications.
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and tools (e.g. MS Project, JIRA) a plus.
  • Any hands on IT experience (e.g. Linux OS, Excel macros, networking, programming) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage customers through the Thinking Phone Networks provisioning process.
  • Work with customers to understand, document, and analyze their business requirements.
  • Design and provision new customer configurations in the Thinking Phones platform using a web based interface based on the customer requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and conference calls with key stakeholders to communicate project status, and obtain necessary technical and business information.
  • Train customers on use of the Thinking Phones platform including voice and application components. This may include web based or onsite training.
  • Coordinate multiple partners and internal resources to drive provisioning projects to successful completion.
  • Ability to map client requirements to ideas usable for our internal engineers.
  • Ability to serve as a liaison between sales/technical departments and the end users.
